My New Car

This is my new car.

Cody is in love with Subarus. I never knew much about them, but found myself convinced that they were something I should look into. Then I got hooked.

So, here I am driving a Forester, and, to be honest, I really like it.

Although, I am much more timid with a manual; which could be a good thing. I guess we'll see.

His newest achievement...

And it only took him 7 months.

Our Anniversary

This year Cody was in charge.
He made me breakfast.

And he gave me flowers.

Then we headed out on a date, but had to stop for gas.

Then we ate our family favorite, Thai food.

Then we went to a movie.
(this picture makes me look old and wrinkly)

Then we came home.

(Why is my tongue always out?)

Then we went to bed, and under my pillow were two red roses. One for each year.

Happy Anniversary. I love you a lot.

p.s. Thank you Clarke for babysitting.

Binky

As we were driving by our crash site yesterday Cody noticed something on the side of the road, the binky! Mystery solved (if you don't know what I'm talking about, look through Cody's drawing of the car accident again).

It must have flown out the window during the accident and landed in the grass a ways from our car. Now that the snow has melted a bit, we were able to find it.

It really isn't great to live 30 seconds away from where you totalled your car. Now every time we go anywhere we have to pass the spot and relive the moment.

We also had our two year anniversary on the 18. It was wonderful. I have some pictures that I'll try to post soon, along with a few of our new car. We got a 2000 Subaru Forester. So far, I love it.

Bye Bye White Honda

Well, today around 1pm we got into a car accident. We were making a left turn and got hit by a truck on the passenger side. Cody, Brynlee, Camdon and I were all inside.

Minus my car and a couple of bruises and sore body parts, we are doing just great.

On the bright side, since my car is completely totalled, that means I get a new one (eventually). Ya for me!

(and, now I get to spend the day watching Disney movies with Bryn and playing online)

Rocking Chair

I am just not on my game lately.

Last night I went to feed the little guy his regular 4 am delight. I was in my usual sleepy haze as I grabbed him out of his crib and headed for the rocking chair; and thats when it happened. He lunged at me, mouth open (he must have been VERY hungry). The shifting weight tipped me backwards into the chair and caused all 3 of us (me, him and the chair) to topple over.

So, there I was with a hungry and now crying baby, lying on the floor with a rocking chair on top of me.

I was, however, so tired that I'm still not even sure it was real.

What will I come up with next?

Here is a baby picture from my phone for good measure.

Primary Today

Today at church, while jumping up and down for Simon Says, my skirt slipped off my bum revealing a portion of my nylon covered garments.

Thank goodness one of the primary kids pointed and yelled out, "Your pants are falling off!" or I would have never known.

I wonder what the parents will think when they hear what their kids saw in church today...

Proposal Paper

Cody gently suggested that I go through and sort out all of the stuff I have in storage and get rid of the things I don't need or want. While doing it, I found this piece of paper.

His proposal and my response.

I, of course, couldn't just put YES because that would be too easy. Then, the first thing I asked (yes, while still playing hangman) was for my ring. I really am an odd girl, I admit it.

I will love and cherish this little piece of my life forever.

(Nice how the first one Cody wrote was 'you suck.' Feel the love...)

New Year's Resolutions

I decided that if I really want to accomplish my New Year's Resolutions I should make them public. That way I feel more accountable.

1. Take time out each day for just me...even if its only 15 minutes. I haven't done this is a long time.

2. Finish and publish "Pinky and the Witch" for my late grandpa that I love very much.

3. Become a better wife (I have several bullet points below this as to how, but thats more private)

4. Become a better cook. I want my kids to be those annoying ones that always think that no one can cook something like their mother can, and be right. I realize this might take more than a year, but I have to start somewhere. So, if you have any suggestions or recipes, I'm all ears (whatever that means).

5. Finish at least one round of P90X. My mom got it for me for Christmas and it is more extreme than I ever imagined. Its kicking my butt. I am so sore!

We have a few family goals too, but those I can use Cody to be accountable for...and with.

And to appease those who are always whining for more pictures of the boy...
This is him as we speak, zoned in on Baby Einstein.

And this one is from our friends party on New Year's Eve.

December

Alright, here is how December went:

1. We decorated our house a day ahead of schedule. Cody has a strick December 1 rule, but it was broken. We did it because we were having a family party that same week and our house needed to be festive.

2. Then, Cody's family come down from Idaho to celebrate. We even won awards. Mine was the 'best sport' award....hmmmm....

3. Next, we had some of our friends come over for a Christmas party. We had dinner (yes, I actually made it), games, and did a little gift exchange.

4. We shopped.

5. Christmas Eve was spent at my mom's house. The nativity was acted out, with our little guy playing baby Jesus. He did a wonderful job and didn't even cry until it was over. Then we sang songs and gave gifts. Cody and I made one of the gifts this year, and I was pretty pleased with our skills.

6. Christmas morning we opened our family gifts. Then Clarke and my mom made us breakfast and we watched a movie.

7. Christmas afternoon we partied at my dad's house.

8. Christmas evening we went to Mimi's to see Cody's family again. We played a new game that Cody and I got for Christmas called Quilf. It was pretty fun, my favorite part was probably Jill doing some prison guard rap...or maybe Katelyn dancing like a ballerina. Either way, it was fun.

9. We went to the tumbling gym. It was awesome. But the most awesome part was being pushed in a giant wheel with Christie as she screamed. It was pretty funny.

10. New Years Eve we headed to a friends party with delicious food and some bingo...which I didn't win. Cody did though. Then, after accidentally offending a girl there, we headed home to play games with Caleb and Hayley. It was a superb night.

Now for the pictures...
Picking out the family tree.

The first family party. Mimi reading a Christmas story to the kids.

The second family party, wearing the traditional pajamas.

The boy opening his very first present ever.

The stockings I made filled with goodies for Christmas morning.

Gus Gus with his presents Christmas morning.
