More Pregnancy Lessons

I am currently in my 27 week. Here are a few more pregnancy lessons I have learned...

1. They tell you that babies just grow in your stomach. That is a lie. They also grow in your bum and thighs.
2. When Cody talks to my belly, the baby will start wiggling around.
3. It is still creepy every time he moves...especially now that his movements are the slow, defined ones that stick out of my belly for everyone else in the room to see and gawk at.
4. It is very uncomfortable when he kicks my ribs or my pelvic bone.
5. It is VERY hard to come up with a name for someone else that won't get them beat up, made fun of, ostracized, or unfairly labeled.
6. I get winded just walking up the stairs.
7. When I get sick, I GET SICK. Diseases stay longer and hit harder.
8. Sleeping on my side after always being a back or stomach sleeper is nearly impossible. My hips cramp and I start to get raging mad at about 3 a.m...pillows between the legs DO NOT HELP.
9. Every time I stand up, I have to pee.
10. Every time I squat down or bend over, I do pee.
11. I get leg cramps at night that make me want to throw myself off of a cliff.
12. Cody has to cut my toes nails for me, and he does it very willingly.
13. Putting on socks and shoes is very tricky.
14. Your body oozes...those of you who have been there know exactly what I am talking about. Until then, just know that it isn't pleasant.
15. Every time I hear his little heart beat or actually ponder on the fact that I have A REAL LIVE BABY BOY INSIDE ME, I get a rush of emotions that range from panic to excitement.

I still can't believe this is happening to us.

Until next time...

Oh geez, for someone who is hoping to be pregnant again in the near future you just put it off a few months, if not forever. I AM NOT A FAN OF BEING PREGNANT. It is the hardest possible thing to go through. Hang in there.
Cody will be the cutest dad.. HI Cody.

I loved your list, it sounds a little like one I would write. I have to admit that I’ve had it pretty good compared to others. When you get to the end, you're feeling pretty done with the whole pregnant thing. I hope I make it these last 3 weeks!

Oh man! I used to get those leg cramps in the middle of the night that would make me shout and feel like screaming they were so painful! Funny how you don't remember those things until you read about them later and then the memories come back. :) Great time of life, so glad I had the blessing of being pregnant six times, and I tried to enjoy every moment but now I'm glad to be moved on to the new season of never being pregnant again. :)

I am now going to double up on birth control. Seth will be most appreciative for your contribution in making me less baby hungry :)

Really, all I hear are horror stories about being pregnant. It makes me wonder why people keep doing it! You know, other than the whole fulfillment from having kids and all that jazz :)

Oh yes I hear you, especially on the pee thing. I would get up to pee like 10 times before I fell asleep at night (seriously). Good seeing you today, you look great!

You're my hero Hanna! After reading your list, I don't think I can have my own kids... haha.

Hanna...it's SOOOOOO good to hear from you!!! I can't believe all that's happened since the last time I saw you! You served a mission-that is so awesome!!! I bet you were amazing! I am so excited for you to be a mom...you will be an awesome mom! Your posts are hilarious-you are a great writer! I'm excited to read more of your blog! Your husband is funny...you guys are cute together!

About those leg cramps at night...I had them with both of my kids until I learned that if I'd flex my calfs (where my toes would curl back towards me) RIGHT WHEN I'd feel the cramp coming on --it would stop it right away(if that doesn't work-try pointing your toes when you feel it coming on-I can't quite remember which one it was that worked but it worked-and the other one DIDN'T :).

Here's my email(amycatkin@hotmail.com)..will you email me your email address just in case I (or you) ever go private...I would love to keep in touch.

Thanks for saying hi. Please tell your family hi for me and that they are also welcome to visit our blog and leave us comments. How's Andrew? Where is he? Does he have a blog?

Hannah okay I'm dying reading this post. There are so so many things that only a pregnant lady understands when you're pregnant. Love it! The body oozing...yeah don't you HATE it! Honestly, the second I find out I'm pregnant I think UGH i hate that part the most and already I can't wait to be done with that!! You're getting close though! And you look great!
